ORGAN APPEAL |
Who are we? A group of musicians of all ages who help lead the worship for informal services.
When do we play? Storyteller services on the first Sunday of each month at 11.15am. Informal evening services on the third Sunday of each month at 6.30pm.
How do I get involved? Come to one of the services and talk to Rosemary Read afterwards.
2005 In the past year we have continued to participate in the Storyteller service, teaching Michael a lot of new music in the process.
We have also led the music at the annual Boys’ and Girls’ Schools Founders’ Day communion service.
A new departure in December was the official formation of the St Mary’s orchestra, bringing together all the known instrumentalists in the congregation under the baton of Alan Childs. So far we have played at the Crib service and the Christingle, and by the time you read this we should have been in evidence at the 9.35 on Mothering Sunday.
We would be delighted to hear of anybody, of any standard, who would like to join us. If you think you may be interested, please have a word with me or Alan.

2004 In the past year we have provided the music for:
We welcome these opportunities to make music, and are almost getting used to the surprise element that Michael always manages to conjure up for us!
Many of us miss Evening Praise now that the 3rd Sunday slot has been otherwise filled, as we have fewer opportunities to play the music for which the group was originally established. Ann Norman, one of our singers, has recently had to retire, and I would like to thank her not only for her vocal contribution, but also for her encouragement and support.
